Welcome to Circle of Aradia

For decades Circle of Aradia has been a source of ritual, education and healing for women. Now a grove of Temple of Diana, Circle of Aradia began in Los Angeles, California, in 1988 as a successor to Moon Birch Grove, itself an outgrowth of Susan B. Anthony Coven #1, founded in 1971. Our Feminist Dianic Witchcraft tradition, now in its 55th year, is a teaching tradition which balances theory with the embodied experiences at our core, the five sacred female Blood Mysteries.

About Us

The SPIRITUAL SERVICE CIRCLE is the leadership body of Circle of Aradia. The SSC is a council of women who have committed to assist in the development of projects, policies, ritual crafting, facilitation, and education pertinent to the Circle of Aradia community. The SSC is dedicated to the growth of our community, and for outreach to women interested in feminist Dianic Wicca. In addition to Cerridwyn RoseLabrys (ex officio), its members are Hestia Bee, Goddess D, Caterina, and Julia Freya. The SSC meets bi-monthly, and welcomes questions and concerns via the Contact Us form on the Home page.

High Priestess CERRIDWYN ROSELABRYS started on her Dianic journey on May Eve, 1974, with the Susan B. Anthony Coven #1 and Dianic foremother Z. Budapest. Cerridwyn learned of the growing spiritual movement from her best friend Annu, who owned The Feminist Wicca occult supply store with Z. Following her desire to continue her spiritual path and to educate other women about the Goddess, Cerridwyn organized her first coven in the state of Washington where she did extensive research studying world cultures and their Goddess roots while pursuing a minor in history. In 1979, she returned to California, taking a master’s degree in counseling at USC, and joined with newly ordained High Priestess Ruth Rhiannon Barrett in the new Moon Birch Grove coven. Cerridwyn was ordained as Priestess of Ritual and Herstory on Candlemas, 1981. She co-authored several seasonal rituals, some of which continue to be celebrated by Circle of Aradia. She is a graduate of the Spiral Door Women’s Mystery School of Magick and Ritual Arts, a Dianic clergy training program. Cerridwyn was ordained as High Priestess at Winter Solstice by Ruth Barrett in 2011, during the 40th year celebration of the Feminist Dianic Tradition in Los Angeles. She holds center as High Priestess for Circle of Aradia to this day. Cerridwyn is also an American Tribal Style belly dancer and certified teacher of belly dance, who developed a dance troupe in New Mexico when she worked at the Pueblo reservation. She brings this expertise in the power of women’s movement to her rituals and teaching.

Deputy Convening Priestess HESTIA BEE began her studies in Dianic Craft in the late 1980s with Ruth Barrett after attending a memorable Autumn Equinox ritual with Circle of Aradia. Hestia was ordained a Dianic Priestess of Ritual by Ruth Barrett in 1992. Hestia’s ministry focuses on ritual design and facilitation, divination, and education. Hestia has been a tarot reader for over 45 years with a specialty in tradition-informed intuitive reading. Since 2020, Hestia has served as Deputy Convening Priestess of COA and will fill in for the High Priestess in the event of her absence. She teaches workshops and class series on her own and in collaboration with Cerridwyn RoseLabrys and Ruth Barrett. She is also a teacher’s assistant for the online classes of Ruth Barrett and Falcon River. Hestia is a Member-at-Large of the Temple of Diana Board of Directors. She lives in mid-Michigan, and enjoys the open road in her minivan camper. Hestia spends a lot of time thinking about Crete (including when and how to return for another stay), “prehistoric” symbols and rituals, and how to keep faith with our ancestors. Hestia holds an undergraduate degree in Women’s Studies and master’s degrees in Counseling and Behavior Analysis. Hestia can be reached at hello@hestiabee.com and her website hestiabee.com.

Assistant Grove Priestess GODDESS D has served the beloved Circle of Aradia community in many ways since 1991. She had previously served on the Spiritual Service and Business Circles, and is delighted to be of service on the SSC once again. Goddess D was ordained in 2007, and within her ministry has created and taught girls’ empowerment classes, children’s rituals, and women’s self-awareness classes. She has created and officiated at wedding services, facilitated memorials and death midwifery, and co-facilitated COA public rituals.

Assistant Grove Priestess CATERINA is a native of the Detroit metropolitan area, and a first generation Italian who has lived more than half her life in the Los Angeles area. She has been a member of Circle of Aradia since the early 90’s and has facilitated in public rituals for the past few decades. She was ordained in November 2014 by Ruth Barrett. Creating rituals for various life transitions is her specialty. She volunteers at The Assistance League of Los Angeles and is Co-chairing Operation School Bell (OSB). OSB LA served 10,000 students (in Title 1 schools) last year. Her greatest love is her family.

Assistant Grove Weaver JULIA FREYA is a Dianic initiate who facilitates a new Dianic circle in Philadelphia. She is a private practice psychologist and a yoga instructor studying womb-centered and subtle body practices. Her focus as a clinical and forensic practitioner is on depth psychological approaches to recovery from power-over harms, and the legal system’s complicity in perpetuating violence against women and girls. Among her interests are the role of Dianic ritual and group dynamics in transforming the effects of women’s socialization under male supremacy. In addition to local rituals and introductory presentations, she assists in facilitating seasonal rituals with Temple of Diana priestesses in California and online.  Her loves include women’s circles, forests, gathering local botanicals for spell work, wild berry picking, animals, writing, sacred ritual, and her Dianic teachers and sisters.
